SUMMARY:Webinar: Abandoned and inactive wells 2024
DESCRIPTION:Webinar: Abandoned and inactive wells 2024\nIn this IIL energy webinar\, Jake Hannath discusses how oil and gas wells should be properly shut-in\, suspended and plugged and abandoned\, following which he will run through some case studies and statistics where well control insurance claims have been made against abandoned and inactive wells. \nAs the oil and gas industry begins to transition from a decades-long era of exploration and production to one of decommissioning\, a significant number of oil and gas wells need to be plugged and abandoned. Some of these wells have been inactive for many years\, and their downhole condition is unknown. Others have already been plugged and abandoned for decades\, only to be found leaking when the field is being surveyed for decommissioning. \nIn this webinar\, Jake sets the scene by providing details on the estimated number of abandoned and inactive wells in existence\, and the number of wells that will require plugging and abandonment in the near future. Jake will then discuss how a well should be properly shut-in\, suspended and plugged and abandoned\, and run through some case studies and statistics where well control insurance claims have been made against abandoned and inactive wells. \nLearning objectives\n\nTerminology and definitions for the different states of abandoned and inactive wells by different global regulatory bodies\nHow many abandoned and inactive wells exist globally\nHow oil and gas wells should be shut-in\, suspended\, and plugged & abandoned\nUnderstanding permanent well barriers\nIncidents and claims arising from abandoned and inactive wells\n\n \n\n \n Share this event with your colleagues:\n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Facebook\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Twitter\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n LinkedIn\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Email\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Visit Event Website
