SUMMARY:Visit to Old Oak Common Station 2024
DESCRIPTION:Visit to Old Oak Common Station 2024\nIn this IIL educational visit\, attendees will have an opportunity to see a large regeneration transport project – Old Oak Common Station. This visit includes a presentation given by a member of the HS2 project team\, which covers the main construction and engineering risks. \nOld Oak Common Station will be a new transport superhub in West London offering quick\, reliable\, and comfortable journeys to the Midlands\, the North and Scotland. The station will provide a world-class interchange for an estimated 250\,000 passengers each day and will be a gateway into Old Oak and Park Royal\, one of the largest regeneration sites in the UK. \nDuring this visit\, attendees will be informed of the ongoing work on-site with a short presentation by risk engineer experts and will have an opportunity to explore the viewing platform across the site and beyond. \nLearning objectives\n\nAn understanding of major construction risks\nAn understanding of methodology and construction processes\n\nAttendees are required to make their own travel arrangements to/from Old Oak Common Station – the nearest tube stations are Willesden Junction (Bakerloo Line) or East Acton (Central Line).
