DESCRIPTION:The Next Frontier of Sustainability 2025\nThe LMA is pleased to hold a special Lloyd’s market session on the next frontier of sustainability in the insurance business. \nOur guest speaker will be Butch Bacani\, Head of Insurance at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Butch conceptualised and leads both the UN Principles for Sustainable Insurance (PSI) – the global sustainability framework for insurers and the largest initiative between the UN and the insurance industry – and the UN Forum for Insurance Transition (FIT)\, a multistakeholder forum to accelerate and scale up a just transition to a resilient net-zero economy. \nButch will share first-hand insights on the evolution of UNEP’s work with the insurance industry and key stakeholders in shaping the global sustainable insurance agenda. He will also outline the key priorities for UNEP going forward\, including: \nTransition plans and underwriting: First-ever global guidance produced by the FIT to support insurers to develop credible transition plans and better manage climate-related risks\, opportunities and impacts in underwriting portfolios. \nNature and underwriting: First-ever global guidance produced by the PSI to better manage nature-related risks\, opportunities and impacts in underwriting portfolios. \nCOP30 and insurance: Key topics at COP30 in Brazil this November and what they could mean for the global insurance industry\, including UNEP’s COP30 Global Sustainable Insurance Summit\, the main global insurance event at COP30. \nThis special session will provide Lloyd’s managing agents with direct insights into UNEP’s latest thinking and how these global initiatives\, frameworks and guidance can support risk management and underwriting strategies and meet evolving sustainability standards and regulations across markets worldwide. \nDue to restricted numbers\, if you register and subsequently are unable to attend\, please email yasemin.oney@lmalloyds.com. \nAudience\nThis event is open to heads of sustainability\, chief risk officers and those interested in sustainability or climate risk.
