SUMMARY:Master's Series 2024: Managing Climate Risk
DESCRIPTION:Master’s Series 2024: Managing Climate Risk\nThe Master’s Series programme for 2024 kicks off with a return to the crucial topic of climate change and its implications for insurance. \nEntitled Meeting the challenges of tomorrow: Understanding the impact of climate change on natural catastrophe claims today and tomorrow\, it will feature a discussion with Swiss Re’s climate lead Thierry Corti (pictured). This will focus on the impact climate change is currently having on increasing natural catastrophe claims\, what the future may hold and why we will be grappling with climate change for a long time to come. \nIncreasing natural catastrophes will change the risk management and financing requirements of our clients. Building our understanding of the issues behind this complex topic and what can be done to mitigate its effects will be key to enabling the industry to successfully navigate the challenges. \nArrangements\nThis is a virtual event using Zoom and is exclusive to members of the WCI. \nAttending this event is a chance to hear from and pose questions to an industry expert with extensive experience to help us understand what we should be embracing now as individual businesses and as an industry to meet the challenges. \nThierry is a climate change and natural catastrophe expert with 20 years of experience in climate science\, natural catastrophe modelling and corporate sustainability. \nIn his current role\, he oversees the integration of climate change and other macro risk trends into Swiss Re’s natural catastrophe Property business. \nThierry holds a Master’s degree in environmental science and a PhD in climate science from ETH Zurich. \nPrice: FREE. \n \n\n \n Share this event with your colleagues:\n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Facebook\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Twitter\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n LinkedIn\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Email\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Visit Event Website
